December 06, 2018
MnDOT, in partnership with Hennepin County, will repair the France Ave. Bridge and other infrastructure on France Ave. in Edina starting April 2019.

This work consists of repairing the France Ave. Bridge over Hwy 62, pavement resurfacing for a smoother road surface, replace signal system, lengthen acceleration lane on ramp to EB Hwy 62, and sidewalk and accessibility improvements along the France Ave. bridge. MnDOT is taking steps to minimize the length and impact of the project by closing the France Ave. bridge for 3 months to complete the work. The project is expected to be complete in July 2019, weather permitting.

In preparation for the upcoming project, there will be an overnight closure of the France Ave. bridge and Hwy 62 between Xerxes Ave. and Valley View Rd. ramps in both directions for utility work from 11 p.m. Mon, Dec. 10 through 5 a.m. Tue, Dec. 11, weather permitting. The detour for the closure of Hwy 62 at France Ave. is to continue on the Hwy 62 ramps. The detour for the France Ave. bridge closure is WB Hwy 62 to Xerxes Ave. S., west on 60th St.; EB Hwy 62 exit to Valley View Rd., east to 66th St., north to Xerxes and west on 60th St.
