Emerging Leaders: October Social

Join the Minneapolis Regional Chamber's Emerging Leaders for a fun evening of networking and discussion on preparing for management. Many young professionals are eager to get promoted but often times don't realize that managing people requires a totally different skillset from their individual contributor role. Without proper training, experience, and coaching, a newly appointed manager is not set up for success and runs the risk of negatively impacting everyone on their team. For this event, we'll learn some tips about how to tailor your own leadership development to where you are in your career and also hear some stories from other emerging leaders about how they were (or were not) prepared for management.

The Emerging Leaders series fosters dynamic, interactive and informative conversations designed to help professionals develop cross-sector connections and practical insights about how to be successful leaders in the workplace. These events are designed to most benefit early career professionals. All program content is based on lessons learned from our Advisory Committee, a diverse group of successful cross-sector emerging leaders and representatives of local employee resource groups and young professional networks. Events include time for networking, a brief presentation, group discussion, and more networking.
